one of my favourite street artists hands down, is amara por dios. she is a swedish sneaker head, of chilean heritage, who resides in uppsala, sweden, which is around 30 minutes outside of her native stockholm. i came across her work a few years back via the sneaker tip, and i have been following her work ever since.
she has always been an artist, but started to take it more seriously back in 2009. she draws a lot of her inspiration (no pun intended), from her surroundings; colours around her, her dreams, and art in general. amara has painted murals, not only in sweden, but she has also traveled to london town to grace some of their walls.
in 2011, she quit her job and went full-time and things have been hectic ever since. her time is taken up by art exhibitions and solo shows, to working on murals throughout the city or even in a friends apartment, and working out of her own studio and selling her own product on her own site. female entrepreneurship at its finest!
besides murals, she also makes paintings and posters using spray paint, acrylic, and molotow ink. her merch includes quality t-shirts (which i can vouch for), cool stickers, magnets, and jewelry. you can purchase her products from her online store and follow her blog for what she's up to next. check out some her artwork
