what to wear, what to wear

with SXSW and good, spring weather (fingers crossed) approaching quickly, it is time to figure out what to wear to the festivities!  i came across this fashion blog by kendi lea, where she came up with a cool challenge called 30 for 30.  basically the rules to the challenge are 1. no shopping for 30 days 2. pick 30 different items in your closet and remix them into different out fits, and 3. NO SHOPPING!  this is a great concept that forces creativity with what you already have hanging up in your closet and what's a better time to start it then now; the beginning of march and for the week of SXSW.

the challenge to dressing appropriately for SXSW is to obviously look cute and fashionable without over doing it.  the key is comfort.  with the day being jam packed from noon till 2am everyday that week, you will not have time to go home and change, so you have to get it right from jump.  heels are out of the question!  there is tons of walking, so sneakers and sandals are more ideal.  last year it was actually quite cold on some days, so a light jacket is always good to have just in case, because TX weather is so unpredictable. 

the day these pictures were taken, it was raining outside and LC and i hit up the local, empty washateria on a friday night.  just us inside, we were able to get a few good shots and here they are...
