well the music portion of SXSW officially started today the 15th. i will be heading out to austin on thursday afternoon to officially start my festivities. i am really excited to see a lot of friends, old and new, that are coming in from other cities across the country. what goes best with good music and good people? FOOD! there are so many different spots in and around austin that i want to try, from food trucks to taquerias to pizza and hot dogs. i don't know what it is lately, but i have been craving a kosher beef hotdog with something other than ketchup and mustard. so i am determined to get my fix while i am out and about in austin. funny enough, i gave up soda and cow meat for lent and bacon back in november. today is the 7th day i have gone without. i am doing quite well considering a beef fajita with cheese and a big red were a staple in my diet. i do plan on continuing my fast until Easter, but i may have to have just one cheat day!
there is one in particular place i want to go to that i have been talking about for months. it's called frank and they are known for their hot dogs and cold beer! they are conveniently located downtown off 4th and colorado, in the midst of SXSW. check out the lovely menu!
